STORY CONTINUES BELOW

Nikocado Avocado, whHighose real name is Nicholas Perry, posts videos on YouTube gorging on massive amounts of food.

The blogger openly admits that he is overweight and has frequently told viewers that he is now disabled.

In a video posted in September, he claimed that he had broken three ribs while filming a video and was bedridden.

Reacting to his content, fellow YouTuber Charles White Jr, has called out Nikocado for ‘slowly killing himself for views’.

Starting the video by mentioning several other content creators who have taken drastic actions for the sake of views, Charles says that Nikocado is also on a path to self-destruction.

‘For those that don’t know, Nikocado Avocado is a Mukbang YouTuber, that’s primarily what he does,’ Charles explains. ‘Mukbangs are when you just eat on camera and that’s about it.’

‘People have been saying for the last couple of years that Nikocado Avocado is literally killing himself for YouTube views and it’s absolutely true.

‘He is slowly killing himself and documenting the journey the entire time while having an understanding of exactly what he’s doing… It has been an extremely sad thing to see.’

Reacting to the video, Nikocado, or Nicholas, told extra.ie that he believes Charles (Penguiz0) targeted him because of his weight.

‘Charlie’s video about me got 10 million views in just 1 week, ranking number 6 out of over 3,368 uploads on his Youtube channel,’ he began. ‘It’s now one of his most-viewed videos of all time, which is exactly why he made a 2nd video about me, piggy-backing on the traffic from the first— and at my expense!

‘This statistic puts me at a massive disadvantage because millions of people had already made up their minds that I was the villain. A sensationalized, horrifying title such as— I’m “killing myself”— is sure to create an emotional response, as most people only read headlines and watch about a minute or two of the video. People saw his title and ran wild!’

Nicholas went onto say that Charles ‘deterred his audience’ away from his own response video by claiming he ‘only ate food for the majority of the video’. Nicholas said this was certainly not the case.

‘In fact, I nibbled on half of a burger and some sides while spending nearly 30 minutes responding directly to him. He also claimed I was playing a character and that my video wasn’t worth taking seriously.’

Specifically citing some of the harsher comments in Charles’ video, Nicholas claimed that there was a jarring contradiction.

‘If you listen carefully, he also diagnosed me with an eating disorder on the mere basis of my appearance and the types of videos I make,’ Nicholas said while also pointing out that at one point, Charles said that he has ‘an understanding of exactly what he’s doing’.

‘So on one hand, he claims I’m addicted to food with an uncontrollable eating disorder. On the other hand, he claims I do have control, that I’m not addicted to the food, and that I’m “killing myself” for the mere sake of “YouTube views.” So, am I in control or out of control? And who is he to make a diagnosis about my mental health in the first place?

‘He’s inconsistent with his narrative, but nobody seems to care. It’s also unethical to go around diagnosing people with mental disorders simply because you don’t enjoy or agree with the content. At the end of the day, I make original content about myself, while he makes videos primarily talking about others,’ Nicholas said.

‘There are hundreds of Mukbang creators on YouTube, many of whom eat vastly greater amounts of food than I do.’

Nicholas went on to state that Charles could not have been watching his videos for years as he had incorrectly stated that “I almost always finish everything on my plate.”

‘This couldn’t be further from the truth. Historically, this has been my #1 criticism from the Mukbang crowd— I never finish my food!

‘If he’s really so concerned about what people eat on YouTube, where are his videos about all of the other Mukbangers, most of whom are slim & trim? There are dozens of successful channels who film at the exact same frequency as me; in fact, some of the most famous Korean mukbangers post up to 3 times a day, finishing all of the food on screen (unlike me). These creators have millions of more followers than me, too— the only difference is that I’m overweight, and they’re not.

‘Charlie’s video was patronizing and condescending, under the guise of wanting to help or spread awareness,’ Nicholas continued before suggesting that Charles did not have ‘pure intentions’ and had exaggerated to ‘get stronger reactions’.

‘I believe if I was skinny he wouldn’t have made these videos in the first place, as evident by his silence on the hundreds of other eating channels. Apparently, I’m the only one “killing myself” worthy of his public scolding.’
